GEMINI, LEVEL III: TRICKSTER IN TURMOIL

On Level III, the archetype is neither fully awake, but no longer fully asleep. There are intermittent knockings at the door of consciousness, half-registered but often ignored. One foot remains in dreamland, the other tentatively testing the floorboards of reality. Denial still lingers like morning fog. Shadows are often projected onto others, and self-responsibility hasn’t really hit home.

Head over heels, wheeling and and dealing, still not really connected to an overarching meaning, is the name of the game on Level III, for Gemini

The good news: the downward spiral of Levels I and II has come to a halt. The bad news: no real ascent has begun. Symptoms still point to problems more than potentials, mindlessness more than mindfulness. But! There’s now a flicker at the end of the tunnel—a faint sense that a prince or princess (gender irrelevant, fairy tale metaphor intact) may be on their way up the tower with a gentle wake-up kiss.

On the spectrum between entanglement and enlightenment, we’re hovering around a 70/30 ratio.

In the case of Gemini, Level III might play out as such:

  • A scattered butterfly flying blindly from flower to flower: hopoeing to find something, wityout know what Seeking meaning all over the place, without finding.

  • Scattered thinking: A mind all over the place

  • Unable to focus: Constantly distracting oneself, wheeling and dealing

  • Overstimulated: Unable to log off from mental stimulation

  • Not walking the talk: There’s a disconnect between what is said and what is actually done—an inconsistency between intentions and actions.

  • Always moving, never arriving: The individual remains in perpetual motion but never seems to reach a point of completion or satisfaction.

  • Much ado about nothing: Engaging in a lot of activities or discussions that lack substance or real progress.

  • Psychologically, sometimes: lost twin syndrome: A feeling of being incomplete or disconnected, as if one’s true self is split or lost.

  • Superficial “philosophical mottos” to conceal lack of vision: Using empty slogans or superficial wisdom to hide a lack of deeper understanding or purpose.

  • Information overkill: constantly on social media or reading “the news”: Consuming a vast amount of information but failing to process it or find meaningful insights.

  • Busy without being effective: Lots of activity, but little actual progress or productivity.

  • Full of incoherent information, but without making sense of it: The individual gathers facts but cannot synthesize or apply them effectively.

  • Need for constant distractions (TV on in the background etc.): Seeking external noise and distractions to avoid dealing with inner discomfort or emptiness.

  • Talks more than listens: Dominating conversations with their own thoughts without truly engaging with others.

  • Fears silence or stillness: Uncomfortable with quiet moments, as they may force the individual to confront unresolved issues.

  • Curiosity-for-curiosity’s-sake: An insatiable desire for information or experiences without any particular goal or purpose.

  • Wheeling & dealing: Engaging in transactions, negotiations, or schemes, often without deep thought or commitment.

  • Noncommittal: A refusal to commit to any one idea, person, or direction, due to fear of missing out or being locked in.

  • Quick to “know” but slow to understand: An individual who rushes to conclusions without fully processing or understanding the situation.
